For Serve GP one of the projects we will undertake is some landscaping that is needed at Williams Elementary. We are in need of 25 people...children are welcome but will work with their parents (sorry, we are not able to offer childcare). The Project Manager is David Allen. Some supplies that you can bring with you to help with this project are: brush trimmers, hand clippers, shovels, hand tools, gloves, rakes, gloves.
Sleep in Heavenly Peace
'Sleep In Heavenly Peace' is a nation wide non-profit with a mission to make sure every child has a bed to sleep on. Currently over 300 kids in our county do not have a bed in their home. We will partner with SIHP and build 20 wooden beds. SIHP will deliver them to deserving kids (with a mattress, pillow & bedding). No prior wood working experience needed. Coffee/donuts/water provided. All tools will be provided by SIHP. We recommend you bring gloves & eye protection & sunscreen. If the weather is wet, we will move the build inside the gym. This project is limited to 30 people (12 yrs and up only).
We will be painting some areas of the school. There will be prep work (pressure washing, masking, etc.) - Spraying and bank roll (4 needed); Painting the front of the portable with rollers and brushes (5 needed); and painting fascia board (4 needed) - The Project Manager is Cliff Woodruff - Supplies you could bring to help: painting supplies, brushes, rollers, masking tape.
Parkway will be helping Faith House with some general cleanup for Serve GP. This will be for anyone 12 and up. They will be helping with removal and replanting of Arborvitaes, trimming hedges, building fence, and some outside repairs. The Project Manager will be Pastor Ron Marsh. Supplies you can bring: brush trimmers, hand clippers, shovels, tree saws, hand tools, carpentry tools and gloves.
